Trea McGuinness (Porter Morris) discusses Wills & Inheritance
A panel of expert speakers covered a wide range of relevant and important topics. The morning session commenced with a talk by Trea McGuinness (Solicitor, Porter Morris) ‘Managing Your Affairs, Wills & Inheritance’. Trea discussed the essential nature of will-making particularly when it comes to complex situations such as looking after vulnerable dependents, second marriages, foreign held assets etc. Her talk also covered Capital Acquisitions Tax (CAT), a tax payable by beneficiaries in respect of gifts and inheritances received.
John O’Connor discusses GMS Pension Scheme Entitlements
During Session 2, GMS Pension Scheme Entitlements were dissected by Omega MD John O’Connor. A popular topic due to its often confusing nature, there was a large Q&A discussion after the main presentation.
After lunch, Dr Andrée Rochfort (Director of Doctor’s Health ICGP) invited delegates to switch gears and think about what Retirement will look like for them, their plans and aspirations for the next stage of their lives and the importance of managing health-care and self-care.
Finally, Steven Lynch (Medaccount) tackled the practice ownership transition process, offering a range of models including Outright Purchase, Work In Model and a hybrid of both.
The Radisson St Helens (Dublin) provided a comfortable and stylish backdrop for the event and delegates enjoyed the opportunity to catch up over a private lunch at the Talavera Restaurant.
